Wales Airshow to return on 1 and 2 July 2023
SWANSEA’S Wales Airshow had a brilliant weekend with hundreds of thousands of people enjoying the country’s biggest free show.
Two days of flying featuring The Red Arrows, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and many other displays delighted visitors from across the UK.
And we’ll be back on July 1 and 2 in 2023!
Cabinet member Robert Francis-Davies said: “It was a fantastic weekend for Swansea. As the city’s reputation grows as a top class venue for big events, the annual Wales Airshow was a huge success.
“The Tigers parachute display team, the Aerosuperbatics WingWalkers and Team Raven were among those who made for a real festival atmosphere.
“The show was also able to host the local leg of the Queen’s Baton Relay, celebrating Birmingham’s forthcoming Commonwealth Games.
“The Airshow contributes millions of pounds to local businesses and the local economy. We thank local businesses and residents for their patience with the road closures and to all traders for their contribution to the latest show’s success.
“Among the stars of the show were the hundreds of thousands of people who enjoy a day out or a weekend in Swansea. The family atmosphere they helped generate resulted in a great weekend.”
He paid tribute to the effort put in by council staff, South Wales Police, show sponsors and other council partners who helped make the event a top quality showcase for the city.
